Online therapy is a convenient and flexible way to receive therapy from the convenience of your home or office
The phone consultation allows us to connect and for you to ask any questions that you have about me and my approach. I will be able to provide some specific feedback around how I would approach our work together.
Once you decide you would like to set up an intake appointment, we will choose a time that works for both of us. I will set you up in my online portal, where you can complete intake forms to prepare for the first meeting.
You will receive information on how to prepare yourself for the first telehealth meeting. In the first meeting, I will conduct a thorough background assessment and will demonstrate the Gestalt process so that you can get a feel for me and my style.
I strive to be transparent throughout the entire process and I welcome questions about how the process works and what to expect. I am here to support you through the process as we build our therapeutic relationship.
You may have some questions or concerns about Gestalt therapy or telehealth. I’d like to try to help you with those.
I find weekly therapy to be a level of therapy that most clients find therapeutic. I also feel that since healing is a longer term process, it makes sense for us to meet regularly, even during weeks when you may be feeling “good.” If we are trying to capture your full range of experience, it makes sense that we connect even when things are going well for you.
I understand that you may have questions or even doubts when establishing a new therapeutic relationship and embarking on a new style of therapy. I find that most clients start to notice some smaller changes within a few months of beginning work with me. For clients that are willing to put in a longer term commitment, true transformation is possible.
While it is important that you have a private space to conduct the session, I realize that may be a challenge for you. I would be happy to troubleshoot with you to create a space for you to conduct the session where you can feel comfortable that your concerns will be kept confidential.
I view therapy as a healing process and healing does take time. I believe that most people are looking for lasting change, which is what I believe Gestalt therapy can provide. I typically work with clients for a year or longer and find that clients who are willing to invest the time are able to experience some pretty remarkable transitions in their lives.
My philosophy around psychotherapy requires that we be more awake and aware in order to create a world that is equitable and worth experiencing, so that we can find meaning in our individual and collective lives.
I really believe in the transformational power of Gestalt therapy as I have experienced something similar for myself and I find it very meaningful to help people heal, grow and change in order to fully accept themselves, as they are.
